Sally qualified from UCH London in 1991 gaining both BDS(Lond) and LDS.RCS(Eng).

She worked in Surrey for 4 years in general practice until she and Simon decided to spend a year in Australia, travelling and working under a sponsorship scheme.

That year turned into nearly 9 years away where she and Simon worked for the Flying Doctors’ service, visiting remote areas of Queensland for 3 years and then on to remote areas that found difficulty in recruiting dentists. They included government clinics and general practice from Queensland to Tasmania.

Finally, after a last year’s travelling around Australia, finding as many fish as possible, Sally and Simon returned to the UK.

For 3 years in Hampshire, Sally worked for a corporate dental organisation where she became a clinical director, covering much of the South East. She enjoyed this immensely, however she and Simon wanted to find a more rural area to live and found Chagford (or as some say, Chagford finds you!).

They opened the practice in 2006, in a small premises, just a few doors away from the present location.

Sally is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry and also enjoys her role as clinical supervisor at Plymouth University, teaching 5th year dental students.

“You get to a stage where you suddenly realise that you can impart your experience onto others!”

Sally, first and foremost, loves spending time with their 8 year old son, Monty. She is a keen gardener and has recently found her fishing spirit again!

Dr. Thomas Brew

Tom Brew qualified at the Peninsula Dental School in 2014, and then went onto complete his Membership exams in Glasgow. After travelling and returning to the UK, Tom undertook further training in cosmetic, restorative dentistry and orthodontics.

Tom is a meticulous dentist providing holistic, high-standard, patient-centred care that is tailored to each individual's dental needs.

Tom enjoys all aspects of general restorative and cosmetic dentistry including orthodontic treatment, using clear aligners to provide a beautiful smile in a minimally invasive manner. Tom enjoys endodontics (root fillings) and undertaking more complex procedures.

Outside dentistry, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, walking on Dartmoor, cycling and competing in triathlon, including Ironmans.

Dr Alex Mitchell

Alex grew up in Lytham St Annes, a seaside town in Lancashire. Before dentistry Alex studied Biochemistry at Sheffield University from 2004-2007. He then moved down to Devon to study at Peninsula Dental School qualifying in July 2011.

Alex enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and finds great reward in really getting to know and care about his patients. He provides a relaxed environment in his clinic, where patients feel comfortable, valued, and truly involved in their dental care.

Alex lives near Exeter with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he likes to make the most of living in Devon with camping trips, family days out at the beach and walking on Dartmoor. Alex loves sports and is a big Liverpool supporter.

Leigh-Ann Blanchard

Leigh-ann graduated in 2019 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Bristol University and not only passed with a distinction but received the dentsply award for best academic in her year! Leigh Ann is passionate about her role and loves educating her patients in all matters of oral health with tailored advice to suit your needs.

She has a kind and sensitive approach making you feel at ease and is always happy to spend time going above and beyond to ensure her patients are happy!

In her spare time, Leigh-Ann loves to spend time with her family and friends. Taking the odd little trip to visit Scotland and Spain (where her family live) when she can. Leigh-Ann is a big dog lover and has two dogs.
